Hello, I'm Derrick.

I'm a data scientist based in Accra, Ghana. I run Dataverse Ghana, where we work on data problems for African organisations. This site is where I keep the things that don't belong on the company blog; small tools, build logs, and notes from the workbench.

My name, otekton, comes from the Greek τέκτων - builder. It shows up in a lot of languages because the urge to make things is older than any of us.
